22 Months

Melissa - you turned 22 months today! What are you up to?

• You are definitely becoming a toddler. You are wanting to do more things on your own, and even have an opinion on what you want to wear (white vs brown sandals, pink vs orange shirt).
• You repeat so many things and you are learning new words all the time.
• You are wearing 18 month clothes.
• Your hair is getting so long! Mommy loves to put it in pigtails, you love to wear them, and Daddy loves to see you with pigtails.
  

• You are really thriving at school. Your teachers comment on how many words you are learning, how "imaginative" you are in your play at school.
• You LOVE to sing. Your favorites right now are The Alphabet Song, Itsy-Bitsy Spider, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
• We are slowing working on potty training. But we're not really rushed to get through it at this point.
  
• We are working on colors and counting. You can count up to five with our help and will say Hooray! and clap once we reach five.
• Your favorite colors are pink and purple. (I say this because anytime we ask you a color it's pink or purple.)
  
• You love to give kisses and hugs. You also love to give us "pats" on the back.
• You enjoy painting and coloring with the markers.

• You know Please and Thank you and will often share items if asked.
• You have recently started playing more on your own instead of us playing with you. Instead of us sitting down to play with blocks, you might pull them out yourself and build towers. You will often find your baby and put her in the stroller, push her around, then tuck her into her bed so she can go "Night-Night".

It's hard to believe that in just 2 more short months, you will be 2 years old. You are such a sweet girl and Mommy and Daddy adore you! You amaze us and inspire us and we are so thankful you are in our lives! We love you!
