20 Months

Melissa - you turned 20 months today! What are you up to?

  • You are talking so much! You are now putting two words together to create small sentences, and are able to communicate very well.
  • You are starting to get an opinion on things (shoes to wear, what song we listen to on your CD), and since you can communicate so well, you definitely keep Mommy and Daddy on our toes!
  • You have also starting becoming more picky about what you eat. Some days you will gobble it up, and other days you don't seem interested.
  • You are wearing a mixture of 12 month and 18 months clothes.
  • Your eyes are a mixture of blue and brown, and your brown hair is getting longer, but is still slightly curly.
  • You are doing so well in your new classroom at school. It's been amazing to watch your confidence level soar and your playful personality return.
  • You love to climb onto all sorts of things and will try to let go of Mommy or Daddy's arm if you can.
  • Mommy and Daddy love to sing with you. We laughed in delight when we realized you had learned hand motions to songs like "Wheels on the Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "If You're Happy and You Know It".
  • You can use the potty if we ask you (and then we can do our Potty Dance!).
  • You help Mommy set the table at dinner, and you LOVE to help her cook.
  • We have been playing outside almost everyday when we get home. You will sit at your table and eat your snack, or play on your slide.
  • We working on learning all of our aunts and uncles and cousins by looking at pictures. You are doing a great job!
  • Your favorite animal still seems to be elephants.
  • You love to give kisses and hugs and love to dance!
You are such a big girl at 20 months! We can't believe that you are almost 2. You astound us with the new things you pick up every day. You are an amazing, precious, girl, and we love you so much!
