We were hoping that Melissa would nap on the way up there, but since we finally turned her car seat around, she was so interested in seeing everything out her window. We saw trains, buses, tractors, dirt, trees, cows, etc.
We met Ann at Woodway First United Methodist Church for their Mother's Day service. Melissa behaved well during service considering she sat with us the whole time. The children sang songs (with clapping and hand motions) and that held her attention. The church also had bags available with colors and pictures and Ann had remembered to pick one up for us, so Melissa colored away.

For lunch we headed over to this Country Kitchen Buffet that Ann had heard about. Melissa's favorite items were the fried okra and the watermelon. And of course the chocolate covered strawberries!
After lunch, we headed home. With no nap on the way up to Waco, Melissa was plum tuckered out after her big adventure:
It was always bad news for us when Grant didn't nap while we were driving somewhere....it usually meant his behavior was going to be horrible!
ReplyDeleteMelissa is so adorable. I guess you waited to turn her carseat around because of all of the scares about front-facing seats? I kept Drew facing backwards for a couple of extra months too...
