2 1/2 Years Old

Melissa - you turned 2 1/2 today!  What are you up to?
  • You are a very sweet child, eager to help at home and at school.
  • You are wearing a mixture of 18 month and 24 month clothes.  The 24 month shirts fit, but the 24 month pants are too long.
  • Your hair is so long!  Many people comment on what pretty, long hair you have!  Unfortunately, you don't like to sit still long enough in the morning to let Mommy fix it.  But somehow you let your teacher Ms. Crystal put it up in so many different ways!

  • You have done very well at Golden Keys.  I think the smaller classes have been beneficial for you.
  • Every morning when I drop you off you have your routine of getting your water and your napkin and sitting at the table to eat your cereal, even though you've already eaten breakfast with Mommy AND Daddy at home.
  • You are starting to sing so many different songs now.  You have such a sweet voice as you work through the words and raise and lower your voice to the melody.
  • You are pretty much potty trained, except for bedtime.  You still wear Pull-ups at night.
  • We love to watch you figure things out, whether it be how to build something with your blocks, how to play with a new toy, or how to answer a question we may have asked.  The wheels are always turning!
  • You still love to give hugs and kisses to everyone - even a friend of Mommy's after a playdate!
  • Your vocabulary continues to grow and we are amazed how well you are able to express yourself.
  • It seems that you never forget a thing!  If Mommy or Daddy tries to tell you "Later" in hopes that you will forget it, we are out of luck.  Later comes around and you will ask about it again.  We can tell you something one morning and you will remember it the next.
  • You really enjoy playing with toys that involve building.  Whether it's large blocks that we stack and knock over, or the duplo blocks that we build castles and high towers with, you and Daddy will sit down and build and build and build!
What a blessing you are in our life Melissa!  You bring us joy each and every day and you teach us so many things just by being you!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
